Our treatment plans are designed by Danish company 3Shape, market leading manufacturer of 3D intraoral and desktop scanners & CAD/CAM software solutions for the dental industry.
We offer 2 types of trimming
We choose to trim aligners by hands rather than using a CNC automatic
trimming machine, in order to control each aligner and insure they are trimmed
properly. This offers the best protection for your patients.

With over 200,000 treatment cases completed since 2017, our treatment plan are designed by 3Shape within 1 to 3 business days from the moment your cases are uploaded in our online portal.
The teeth movement philosophy is conservative to maximise result outcomes and allow your input should you want to change or add anything to the treatment plan.

Step 1
Upload your scans’ files on:
mylab.smile-academy.com.au
along with information about your patient.
We can also receive your impression that we will scan and upload it for you on our portal
Step 3
The models are 3D printed, thermoformed, packed and shipped to you or your patients.
Step 2
Your patient treatment case is ready. Accept it or request for some changes. (Modifications are usually updated within 1 working day). Once the treatment case is validated, it is sent to production.
All our treatment plans are designed by 3Shape branch in USA with over 10 years of expertise in orthodontic treatment plans.
Step 4
Quality control and delivery is organised by the Smile Academy team in our Brisbane facility

Access our portal in one click and upload your patient scans, you can check status at any time.
Once uploaded, your patient treatment plans will be available within 1 to 3 working days.

You will receive an automatic email when the treatment is on our portal, awaiting for your approval or modification.
We use the most advanced CAD / CAM solution to design your patient treatment plans using 3Shape software.
Once the treatment plan has been approved, it automatically goes into production.
The clear aligners will be delivered within 7 to 14 days.

Scanners
We work with all brands of scanners!
Smile Academy works with all brands of intraoral 3D scanners as long as it can export STL files. We also accept traditional impressions that we are scanning in our Brisbane Lab.

If you are looking for our lab in the software of your scanner you may search for 'Smile Academy' (Lutwyche or Morningside) or search by email 'orders@smile-academy.com.au'.
Feel free to contact us if you need some assistance on how to generate and export STL files from your scanner.

Although we accept direct STL file transfer from many scanner provider software, it is preferable to export your STL files into your computer and send upload it from our portal.
